Rojo Granrojo Tempranillo Rosado 2024 (Spain)

“This boasts a very attractive, bright salmon colour, bursting with strawberry and candied apple aromas. This is light bodied, fresh, and finishes with just a hint of sweetness. But this is no confected lolly water, with plenty of red fruit character in the mouth. A generous, interesting rosé, that will be wildly popular, I am sure” Paul Tudor, Master of Wine

Scale_-_Dry

“It's elegantly expressed on the nose with raspberry, watermelon, crisp apple, and floral notes, followed by a lively palate that's juicy and lingering. Elegant and charming with a refreshing finish. At its best: now to 2027” Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Delicate raspberry and rose characters on the nose lead to a light-bodied, completely dry style with lower alcohol and vibrant freshness that’s a perfect food wine able to partner seafood, vegetarian fare and soft cheese.

A classic dry Rosé ("rosado" in Spain), to partner Rojo Garnacha, one of the best-selling Spanish reds in New Zealand. From fifth generation family estate Navarro Lopez, originally founded in 1904 by Don Juan Sánchez. Hand harvested from low-cropped vines in Castilla-La Mancha, at about 500-700 meters above sea level and fermented cool in stainless steel. Tempranillo is a fantastic grape for rosado as its flavoursome skins and early ripening lend themselves well to rosé production via short maceration, yielding structured yet refreshing wines with red berry notes and versatility. The style is more fruit-forward than ultra-pale Provençal rosés but the finish is dry, crisp and food friendly.
